Science

Intent

At Christopher Rawlins we want children to have a deep understanding of the world they live in. Our curriculum fosters a healthy curiosity about our universe and promotes respect for the living and non-living. Children are able to acquire key scientific knowledge through practical experiences, using equipment, conducting experiments, building arguments and explaining concepts confidently. Children are encouraged to ask questions and be inquisitive about their surroundings and develop a love of science.

Characteristics of a Scientist:

  • Is enthusiastic and enjoys scientific learning and discovery.

  • Can understand the nature, processes and methods of Science through different types of enquiries that help them to answer questions about the world around them;
